Was excessive heat the cause or just a related symptom? I guess what I'm getting at is that, in my amateur opinion, his car is not broken, he just shouldn't put it through that again. The V10 example doesn't apply due to differences in load capabilty, heat disapation ability, displacement, whatever (engineers correct my logic.) A/C is a good dehumidifier, but especially in the heat of Florida, don't leave your car under load at idle. If you have to leave it wet for a period, put a moisture absorbing canister inside (available at any RV dealership), or leave the windows open.
